70

hours from now I'll be on a plane to Las Vegas... warm weather here I come.
:)

the hat that nearly killed me...

well not really but it was way more of a challenge that i thought it would be. It's cool yarn but not easy knit. every time i re-did the hat it was a different size even though i had the same stitch count. (very annoying) However... it's finally done. It was done in time for the late season snow storm we had on Friday. Fun thing about the hat, you can wear it inside out and it's has a very different look than right side out. :)
Right side-out

Inside-out

On a fabulous model paired with a matching scarf (which was much easier to make)

It's snowing in Chicago and the current temperature is 34 degrees. We're supposed to get 4 to 6 inches of snow before this snow storm is over today.

in 146 hours, I'll be on a plane to Las Vegas for the final two games of the Cubs spring training schedule.

The forecast for Las Vegas today is 77 degrees and sunny. The forecast for Las Vegas one week from today is 72 and sunny.

i love this time of the year...

Ever seen the movie "Fever Pitch"? it's a great movie. There a scene early on in the film where Jimmy Falon's character, Ben, is shown running out of an apartment building in a t-shirt and shorts. He runs to the UPS guy, grabs his box, hugs the guy, and runs back inside.
Call me Ben today... My season tickets arrived. I have been sitting at home waiting all morning for the phone to ring... then it happens. I throw on my slippers and sprint down the stairs to see the Fedex guy standing at the door. I'm grinning ear to ear and could just about kiss him. (last year i opened the door for the fedex guy and he says i hate this time of year, delivering tickets. Kind of killed my excitement.) He is very nice and was surprised that i was even home to sign for the package. He said he's been delivering tickets all morning and I was the first person home. I told him that i saw they were going to be delivered today so I planned to work at home to sign for them. He laughed at me. I don't care, I have my tickets.

Opening day is two weeks from Monday. I can't wait.
