I know I posts early for February 1 by writing yesterday... oops! Oh well.  I guess I just had to say something.
Today was Target Friday.  Such a fun time.  It started months ago I met my sister and nephew for an hour at target.  Shopping and having fun.  A friend and her daughter started joining us on and off.  It was fun to see the interaction of the three kids as they grew older.  Soon nap times and preschool got in the way and we stopped meeting.  Sad.  So often it was the highlight of my week and got us out of the house.  Today it was back, a fun reminiscent of a good time.
Now I'm starting to wonder if Dillan is phasing out morning naps.  I don't like the idea but it might be happening.  He was so active and happy the last two days without one....

This is me and my little guy.  We are having such a great year so far.  Two teeth and a one year old birthday celebration... twice.  :)

I don't usually like making new year resolutions.  They always seem doomed.  But this year there are a few things I've decided to work harder at doing.  Dishes, Laundry, Cleaning/Organizing.  Not only does it sound like a lot, these are things I don't like to do.  One month into the year, I am better at doing dishes, when the sink allows it.  We live in a very old house and the plumbing is not good.  The sink gets clogged probably once a month.  Very annoying but so far I'm winning the battle of doing dishes more often and keeping the kitchen cleaner.  Laundry is a different story.  Much more out of my control but that's what happens when you live in an apartment building and share one washer with three other people.  Cleaning and organizing are mostly going better, some days I'm very productive and others not much but as long as I stick with it, I will find a place for everything and every will go in it's place.

Saturday night, we picked up Nana and head to Brookfield Zoo for zoolights.

It was unseasonably warm for December 1 but a perfect night to be out walking around.

Standing next to the lion's den, we heard him roar.  it was so amazing.  so powerful.

We've had a wonderful fall so far, although the weather has been a bit on the warm side. We did try on a warm suit for the chilly walks outside.  isn't he cute?

We also celebrated Johanna's first birthday.  what a wonderful party!

August was a busy month for Dillan. Crawling, pulling-up, creeping along furniture, teeth coming in, eating more solid foods, and lots of time with cousins.  whee! 

Conover Pancake Breakfast

Every year around the 4th of July the town of Conover's fire department hosts an All-you-can-eat blueberry pancake breakfast. YUM!  This year Steve, Dillan, and I enjoyed the wonderful breakfast before our trip back to Chicago.  It's always to much fun to see who else is enjoying breakfast in the town hall.
