weekend

What a busy weekend. Saturday was the coffee house at church. Always lots of fun and full of surprises. It was really long, more than two hours but the time flew by. Some old favorites and some new friends performing.
Sunday was part one of the church's annual meeting. (great Sunday for that) It went rather well and we got out earlier than I expected. It was mostly talk about the budget and hearing in previous meetings what was going to be discussed, I was expecting a long meeting. Nice to be surprised with a short meeting. Was able to get to the super bowl party on time. Went to a place called Take Five on Southport. Nice location. Right next to the Music Box theater. We had a nice table, hard chairs but good views of the various TVs hanging around the place. Nice big drinks, good food, good time. I wasn't sure who i wanted to win when the game started. Do i root for New England? go for the perfect season? Do I root for the Giants? the team that beat my packers? at least i could say they lost to the team that won the super bowl. So i watched mostly commercials for the first half. Not bad. a few good chuckles and a few wasted millions of dollars. You can tell which ones blew the budget on the air time rather than the actual commercial. After the half time show (yawn!) things got interesting. It was a close game in the first half but there's still another half to go. The second half is definitely more exciting. Coming down to the last second, literally. now that's the way to play the game. Now i can officially say my packers lost to the team who won the super bowl. It started snowing sometime during the game, when we left there was another two inches of fresh fluffy snow. It was very beautiful outside with the fresh snow. Won't mention the weather on Monday, so not worth it. Another super bowl down in the record books. This one was for the records. The Pats were expected to win it all, be perfect. The Giants defense just didn't want it to happen and they won... again literally.
